Early Closure, Late Opening of North South Line (August & September 2019)

Early Closures & Late Openings along the North South Line (NSL) will take place on selected Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays in August & September 2019 to facilitate additional engineering hours for power supply system renewal (installation of 22kV cables) and maintenance works (viaduct bearing replacement works).

This will include:

• Late Opening between Jurong East & Woodlands
  Selected Saturdays & Sundays in August & September 2019
• Early Closure between Jurong East & Kranji
  Selected Fridays & Saturdays in September 2019

Affected MRT Stations

As a result, train services on the North South Line between NS1EW24 Jurong East and NS9 Woodlands will be unavailable during the periods of closure due to Late Opening, while train services between NS1EW24 Jurong East and NS7 Kranji will be unavailable during the periods of closure due to Early Closure.

Affected Hours & Dates

• On days of Late Opening:
  – Saturday 24 August & Sunday 25 August
  – Saturday 31 August & Sunday 1 September;
  first trains will commence service at around 8:00 am between Jurong East & Woodlands
• On days of Early Closure:
  – Friday 6 September & Saturday 7 September
  – Friday 13 September & Saturday 14 September
  – Friday 27 September & Saturday 28 September;
  last trains will depart at around 11:00 pm between Jurong East & Kranji

Shuttle Bus Services

Shuttle Bus Services will be provided throughout the duration of the early closures and late openings. Fares for the Shuttle Bus Services are equivalent to the distance travelled by train.

Extended Bus Operating Hours

On days of Early Closure, the last buses for residential bus services will be extended to allow commuters to connect from the Shuttle Bus Services.

• Posters for the Early Closure & Late Opening were put up at MRT Stations on 5 Aug 2019. However, as the initial press release was not out yet (as of 5 Aug 2019 morning), the QR Code on Poster did not link to the correct press release. This was subsequently rectified.
