Further Bus Service Developments in Clementi (1981 – Present)
To replace the former roadside bus terminus along Pasir Panjang Rd, SBS built the new Kent Ridge Bus Terminal along Clementi Road in 1981, which absorbed Bus Services 33, 145, 146, 200 and 201 from the former bus terminus. While not located directly within Clementi New Town, Kent Ridge Bus Terminal serves as the terminating point for various trunk services that operate to/from the terminus via the neighbourhoods along Clementi Road and West Coast Road.
In 2006, the former Clementi Bus Interchange was closed and demolished to make way for Clementi Mall & Residences, an integrated residential and commercial development. The Clementi Temporary Bus Interchange took its place as the central hub for Clementi New Town for several years, before the completion of the Integrated Transport Hub (ITH) in 2011.
