Further Bus Service Developments in Woodlands (1996 – Present)
In 2016, the former underground Woodlands Regional Bus Interchange at Woodlands Square was closed for renovation and upgrading works in tandem with the construction of the Thomson-East Coast Line (TEL). The Woodlands Temporary Bus Interchange took its place as the main central hub for Woodlands New Town for several years.
However, when the renovated Woodlands Integrated Transport Hub (ITH) re-opened in 2021, only 25 of 29 bus services were relocated back to the underground air-conditioned bus interchange, due to the lack of parking bays to accommodate all bus services. The remaining 4 trunk services – Bus Services 925/925M, 950, 961/961M & 965 – continue to operate from Woodlands Temporary Bus Interchange as of now.
