In preparation for Go-Ahead Singapore‘s launch of bus operations in September 2016, bus captains have been undergoing route training sessions to be familiarized with the individual bus routes and bus interchanges.
Go-Ahead Singapore’s training buses, decked out in Go-Ahead’s recruitment advertisement (Come on board, we’re hiring!), as well as a mix of Lush Green and SBS Transit base liveries, have been spotted in Punggol and Pasir Ris bus interchanges, as well as along the routes of bus services under the Loyang Bus Package.
Repainting of buses under Go-Ahead to the uniformed lush green SG❤Bus livery have started since July. Unlike the Bulim Bus Package, where repainting of buses only started approximately one month before start of operations, Go-Ahead has started two months earlier. Photos of repainted Volvo B9TL and Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaro buses was posted on the company’s Facebook page on 12 August 2016.
Conveniently, Go-Ahead will only be operating Volvo B9TL and Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaro buses, which will make fleet maintenance much easier as compared to Tower Transit, who has four different bus models in its fleet inherited from both SBS Transit and SMRT Buses. These buses will also be equipped with the Trapeze Intelligent Bus Management System (IBMS) and New Onboard Bus Equipment, which will facilitate operations with the Bus Operations Control Centre.
In June, Go-Ahead Singapore held its bus depot carnival, showcasing its facilities in its new depot. and unveiling its yellow-red uniform for bus captains. (Read about the bus carnival here.)
The BYD K9 electric bus for Go-Ahead Singapore’s 6-Month trial was registered as SG4001J on 26 August 2016. (Read more about the trial here)
Under the Loyang Bus Package, Go-Ahead Singapore will operate 25 bus routes, as well as Punggol and Pasir Ris Bus Interchanges for five years. In September 2016, 24 existing bus routes will handed over from SBS Transit in two tranches. The implementation dates of the two tranches are as follows:
Tranche | Implementation Date | Bus Services | No of Routes |
1 | 04 Sep 2016 | 3, 34, 43/43M, 62, 82, 83, 84, 85, 118, 119, 136, 382G/W, 386 | 13 |

- The 25th service, Bus Service 68, will be implemented in 2017. Details of the bus route will be announced at a later date.
Good luck to the go ahead sg
Go Ahead Transit err i mean Go Ahead advertising partner is saikang Moove Media..Hopefully those Citaros dont kena skyline ads which look fugly enough
36cannot dd bcuz of changi airport height limit
Are there any advertising for Go-Ahead? I saw Tower Transit’s advertising. But, what about Go-Ahead?
The “We’re hiring you” advertisement itself is a advertisement on some buses by Go Ahead.
Maintain two or three is not a big issue since buses is owned by LTA.Its for the benefits of commuters and BCs..Full single decker service like 15,34,36 etc need other models which can carry a bit more pax compared to Citaros
Hello? The citaro can carry 80-90 passengers and i know u mean you want the man but 1 or 2 extra pax? Might as well use the mercedes.
