Opening of World Trade Centre (WTC) Bus Terminal:

With the completion of the World Trade Centre (WTC) in Singapore, a new bus terminal was built by SBS along Telok Blangah Road in 1984 at a cost of $1.4 million, located opposite the new commercial and business centre. When it opened on 13th January 1985, the new terminal absorbed bus services from the nearby roadside bus termini along Alexandra Road, Anson Road and Prince Edward Road. In 1987, it also absorbed Bus Service 65 from the roadside terminus along Lower Delta Road.

While the bus terminal does not directly serve Telok Blangah residents, it is located in close proximity to the neighbourhoods along Telok Blangah Way and Telok Blangah Heights, and became an even more appealing transfer point for commuters when the HarbourFront MRT station along the North East Line (NEL) opened in 2003, due to its greater accessibility to other parts of Singapore. World Trade Centre Bus Terminal was renamed as the HarbourFront Bus Interchange on 5th December 2002.
