Travelling Tips during the F1 period:

  • Commuters are advised to take public transport to reach the Marina Centre and City areas.
  • If relying on public bus services, familiarize oneself with diversion routes and alternative bus boarding/alighting stops along the diverted roads
  • Plan for additional travel time. Road congestion is expected around the circuit park and next bus arrival timings will not be available.
  • Approach bus drivers or interchange offices for more information on road and bus stop closures.
  • Inform bus drivers out of goodwill if one decides to alight at bus stops along the diversion route.

I am wondering why is the bus arrival information for the diverted service not available, as the information is still available during NDP diversion, just that not so accurate in the affected areas. It actually inconvenienced commuters who are living far from the affected areas (eg 960 in Woodlands, 97 in Jurong East, 14 in Bedok, etc).

I would suggest leaving the bus arrival timings as it is (similar to the NDP period) but let users know the timing might not be accurate (Apps that show actual bus locations actually help a lot in setting expectations during this period)

Commuters should be advised that bus services diverted to call at additional bus stops during this period should avoid if possible. Today, I waited for two bus service 130 at Clarke Quay Station but the drivers did not stop and just drove past even though I did my best to flag down the buses. Same was observed for other diverted bus services. Most drivers do not seem to stop at the additional bus stops or are not well trained to do so. Disappointed in this.
